Swedish band Opeth will take a “long break” once their Latin America tour, which began on 1 November in Chile, comes to an end, according to Bulgarian outlet WeRock. Bassist Martín Méndez shared the plan in an interview with Brazilian station 89 A Radio Rock.
Méndez noted that, unlike their previous run in the region, when Opeth opened for other bands, they are now headlining and travelling with their own full production. These dates will also be the last in support of “The Last Will and Testament”, the album released in November 2024.
Opeth formed in Sweden in 1990 and are among the best-known names in progressive metal, with roots in death metal. According to WeRock, the band have played Bulgaria five times.
