Sara Landry sues former managers over use of her name and HEKATE brand

Sara Landry has taken her former management to court. According to We Rave You, her company, Landry IP LLC, filed a trademark infringement lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on October 6 against Night Night Ltd., which operates as The Night Department, and its affiliated company Prepare to Flash.

The complaint alleges the defendants kept using Landry's name and her HEKATE branding after their authority to represent her had ended, including in music distribution and to promote their own management business, giving the false impression that they still represented her and her label. When her team sought control of HEKATE's account with distributor Believe, Prepare to Flash allegedly refused to authorise the transfer.

Landry signed with the firm in 2023 and moved to end the relationship in August 2025 after a dispute over the ownership and control of her music and label. The suit alleges the managers sought 50% ownership of both without appropriate payment. The Night Department denies the allegations, says the ownership terms were clearly disclosed in the contracts, and filed its own case against her in the UK in July, alleging she terminated their agreement without proper grounds. Landry said ownership and artists' rights are "deeply important" to her. The federal case is at an early stage and the defendants have not yet responded.

Sara Landry is an American DJ and producer working in industrial techno, born in 1995 in California. Her second album, "Divine Intervention", is due on October 16.
