Daft Punk and LEGO announce partnership and an official pyramid stage set

Daft Punk and LEGO have announced a partnership, starting with an official “Daft Punk Concert” set based on a fan-made design submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform, according to Gearnews. The Danish toy company has greenlit development of the set from that submission.

Patrick Harboun, co-creator of the original design, said the project began as a creative escape during lockdown, driven by a shared love of Daft Punk and LEGO building. He said he never imagined it would take off this way, calling it proof that a fan's idea can become "something much bigger".

The set is only the first step: LEGO and Daft Punk plan a series of events and content spanning music, culture and creative spaces. Cédric Hervet, Daft Punk's creative director, said the pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of the duo's visual world, and that fans have always played an important part in their story. No release date or price for the set has been announced.

In October mbuzz reported, citing Pitchfork, that the set recreates the pyramid stage from the duo's 2007 Alive Tour and features official minifigures of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Daft Punk are a French electronic duo formed in Paris in 1993 who disbanded in 2021; their newest studio album, according to MusicBrainz, is “Random Access Memories” (2013).
