Metallica open “Life Burns Faster” residency at Las Vegas Sphere

Metallica kicked off their “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on October 1, according to Billboard. The run totals 24 shows across 2026 and 2027, with dates in the first three months of next year ending on March 13.

Drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich said when the residency was announced that seeing U2 open the venue in September 2023 convinced the band they had to play there. He described the residency as another chance to reinvent how they interact with fans live.

The band is keeping its No Repeat Weekend format, introduced on the M72 World Tour in 2023: fans who buy two-night tickets get two shows with different setlists. The second show follows on Saturday. Billboard also notes that Metallica recently added 12 dates to the M72 World Tour, running from May 8 in Vancouver to June 19 in Salt Lake City.
