Tomorrowland replaces its De Schorre bridge ahead of the 2027 edition
Tomorrowland has started replacing the bridge over the lake at De Schorre, the park in Boom, Belgium, that hosts the festival, according to We Rave You. The old bridge is being dismantled and the lake has been drained as part of the project.
The bridge links the area around the One World Radio activation and the Elixir stage with the far end of the park, home to the Freedom Stage and the Rose Garden. The current structure only allowed crossing in one direction, so people heading the other way had to take a different route. For many visitors it was one of the first sights on the way to the Freedom Stage. Photos and a video posted on Instagram by Michael Lagaisse show the progress of the works.
The new design is larger and adds a built-up land area at the point nearest the Elixir stage, so the crossing feels like a natural part of the park. The new bridge is due to be ready for Tomorrowland 2027.
The festival has a history of permanent improvements at De Schorre that serve both festival-goers and everyday park visitors, including the One World Bridge and the Stairway to Unity. In 2023, Tomorrowland signed a deal to stay at De Schorre until 2090.
