De Staat play Cluj-Napoca on 18 March and Bucharest on 19 March 2027

Dutch band De Staat will play FORM SPACE in Cluj-Napoca on 18 March 2027 and Hard Rock Cafe in Bucharest on 19 March 2027, according to ticket seller iaBilet. Two days earlier, on 16 March, the band play Analog Music Hall in Budapest, Rockinform reports, and on 20 March 2027 they stop at Sofia's Mixtape 5 club, as mbuzz reported in October.

The shows present the band's latest album, the self-titled “De Staat”, released after two years of silence. The record came with an art installation and live show, “De Staat Becomes De Staat”, made with director Floor Houwink Ten Cate, audiovisual artist Boris Acket, lighting designer Freek Ros, visual artist Tarik Barri, sound designer Reinier Rietveld and dance collective 155. It premiered at Down The Rabbit Hole festival, followed by two performances at Amsterdam's Royal Theatre Carré.

Lead single “THE KING”, about the endless, destructive cycle of power, was called the band's most uncompromising song yet by 3voor12. It was followed by “THE FIRE”, “GLORY”, “THE UNDERDOG” and “FREEDOM”, which deal with complacency, power, division and artificial intelligence.

De Staat formed in 2006 in Nijmegen and play alternative rock laced with industrial grooves, experimental electronics and pop. They have played SXSW, Glastonbury, Lowlands, Pukkelpop and Sziget, and toured with The Rolling Stones, Muse and Biffy Clyro. Their last concert in Romania was on 5 November 2022 at Club Control in Bucharest.
